THE MAKE AND STONE (2016)
Collaborative performance art piece devised by Annalaura Alifuoco and Silvia Battista.
The performance is devised in response to the brief ‘Earth Tomes’. It consists of two performers, one dealing with the process of consuming a stone through repetitive movements and the second engaging with narrating the Capstone building through language as a "touching" medium.
The piece reflects on the relation between the process of making the building and the building itself; the process of unmaking material in order to realise an architecture. The apparent distinction between the given and the constructed is problematized by the interactions of the two performers. The objective is to bring to the fore both the process of construction and consumption and reveal their intangible coexistence in time.
